Grant Writer Job Posting and Description


Fertile Ground Institute is seeking a freelance grant writer to help our organization grow and continue to offer world-class international social justice and environmental events. 

FGI is an internationally renowned not-for-profit organization that specializes in connecting regional and global leaders with grassroots activists through educational and collaborative events. As well, we help politically radical campaigns expand their reach and develop the structure and visibility required to establish a sustainable foundation for long-term operation.  

Experience: 
Prior experience successfully identifying and winning seed and project type grant funding 

Expectations:
  • Work 10-15 hours a week (average) 
  • Collaborate with each member of the board constructively as required
  • Maintain a 15% success rate at winning grants
  • Provide tax documentation appropriate to contracting services
  • Attend board meetings via conference call as requested
  • Attend board retreats in person as requested (travel paid by FGI) 
  • Report hours worked and description of work performed weekly to the FGI Board President

Compensation: Depends on experience- $10-15/hour; potential quarterly performance bonuses based on success
