Our Work
Fertile Ground Institute is a non-profit working for ecological and social justice. We provide education to develop smart, effective leadership and organize events that bring together seemingly disparate movements. We also support groups with similar goals by providing fiscal sponsorship and consultation.
Latest News
We provide fiscal sponsorship for small grassroots community and activists groups that would qualify for federal 501(c)3 status, but either don't want to pursue official status or cannot do so at this time. Being fiscally sponsored gives you the benefits of being a non-profit, including the ability to apply for grants and receive tax-deductible donations. If your organization is a good fit, we charge a very small percentage of your donations for administrative costs (much lower than standard for this arrangement). Contact us if you're interested in working together!

We Believe
1. That the rights of life trump the perceived rights of commerce.
2. That industrial civilization is undermining every living system on Earth.
3. That the dominant culture is sustained through organized violence, racism, and exploitation of women.
4. That most injustices are systematic and deliberate.
5. That technological innovation will not prevent the further degradation of our planet.
6. That abusive systems must be confronted and dismantled.
7. That our movements have been largely defensive and must adopt more effective strategies.

Big announcement: we have made the videos from the last Earth at Risk conference available online FOR FREE. This gathering brought together a group of people who we think include some of most brilliant activists in the world. Learn from them, and take those lessons into action.
